A steady stream of great releases is what’s been coming out of the PRO-Keds camp as of late, so while we eagerly wait for the release of the DJ Jazzy Jeff x PRO-Keds 69er capsule, we’re getting hit something a bit sooner as J.Crew teams up with PRO-Keds for a late-May release. PRO-Keds will reintroduce the Royal Master DK to the U.S. market after being a Japan exclusive for a period of time, and combined with J.Crew’s sublime grasp of Americana fashion, the resultant effort is one of the cleanest sneaker releases of the year, arriving at the season that demands casual appeal without compromising distinct style (a formula that PRO-Keds hasn’t missed for decades). Built with full-grain premium leather and based on an antique white midsole, these fit the bill for even the most pickiest of footwear choosers. Ronnie Fieg’s retail output with Asics has stayed pretty close to the Gel-equipped lineup of sneakers, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t put his hands on some other tiger striped models during his time in the footwear business. Was Shaq popular with the kids back in the day? The answer is yes: along with a superstar presence on the basketball court, Shaq showed a natural charisma behind the camera, appearing in several films like Blue Chips (although that was geared toward older fans) and the Oscar-snubbed “Kazaam” and “Steel”. Let’s not forget the Shaq-Fu video game, in which a realistic plot-line placed Shaq, fully trained in Kung Fu, in a weird dimension in a mission to save a young boy from an evil mummy. February’s ‘Area 72′ 2013 NBA Nike Free Run 5.0 V2 All-Star edition was the first notable Nike Vandal High release in quite some time. Nike Sportswear might shift that as we move into the future, as this new Vandal High Supreme comes through in a VNTG style that makes you wonder if these could become an alternative to the Vintage Blazer. These Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 go for a tonal Blue Distance upper as accented by Wolf Grey and the ubiquitous Sail; couldn’t you picture them in a whole rainbow of different styles? Nike Sportswear plans on cooling things down this summer with the addition of a translucent icy sole to its classic Nike Air Force 1 model. And while it’s a trend we’ve seen for quite some time in 2013, this will mark the first time that a Nike Air Force 1 High gets the icy treatment. With the ubiquitous white on white upper, the shoe retains the simple old school look with some unexpected flair. After a bring-back of the original New Balance 990 in late 2012, another classic colorway is headed our way as get a look at the lush red suede/mesh combo on this 30-year-old silhouette. Packer Shoes continues the tight-lipped rollout of their latest Reebok project, this time throwing in a teaser shot indicating that the model selected will be a Reebok Classic silhouette. That model is accompanied by the cult-classic Reebok Aztec, hinting that New Jersey shop has an homage in the works that will transfer some of the Aztec aesthetic over to a sneaker perhaps a bit more cherished by the masses. It seems that ever since Colin Kaepernick threw up that image of his sneaker collection, he’s been eager to show the world how much wear he gets out of the group. Foot Locker’s top tiered House of Hoops store is ready to extend its reach to the other boroughs of NYC after its extended stay in Nike Free Run 4.0 V3 Manhattan. More Sky Hi Safari from the Air Revolution today as we see Nike Sportswear trot out another colorway of the wedged sneaker version for ladies.  The Nike WMNS Air Revolution Sky Hi takes on a look that works so well for so many Air-cushioned releases, a mix of silver and neon green atop a white sole that’s both energetic and extremely wearable.  The tonal Safari spots add some serious depth and balance out the upper’s various shades, so check them out up close after the jump, then grab a pair from NSW stores like Wish.

While plenty of US shops have cranked out collabs with the likes of Saucony over the past couple years, none has done so with the same frequency as Boston’s Bodega. It’s not uncommon for the likes of Jordan Brand’s various sig shoes to share colorways. Generally when that happens though, the combos will hit at the same time on adjacent models. Such hasn’t been the case with this new “squadron green” Nike Air Max 95 Mens combination, as the look already showed up on the Jordan CP3.VI about a month ago. Late to the game is the Jordan Melo M9, a sneaker that looks to be doing the same sometime this summer. The Nike Air Pegasus 83/30 has shown us it can either appear with a contrasting stripe up its newly redesigned upper, or go the unibody route and let the Hyperfuse welds blend in. Following up on one red colorway we’d previewed earlier, here’s a second that goes for a tonal look with Atomic Red coming in on that middle panel, sandwiched by Team Red Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 on the rest of the upper. Some 13 years into his professional skateboarding career and Nike Free Run 3.0 V2 Brian Anderson is ready for his sig silhouette from the Nike SB folks. Shown here is the upcoming Nike SB Project BA, the debut Swoosh shoe for the skate legend. The sneaker will feature Lunarlon cushioning, like so many others in the same category as of late, and a lightweight suede upper that puts on a bit of branding via a sectioned off overlay on the back half. The Nike Air Force Max went to outer space and back, returning with an “Area 72″ colorway in the new seamless “2013″ model of the shoe. Thankfully, the original silhouette of this Nike Free Run 5.0 V2 Barkley was left untouched, but the build structure has been altered to reduce stitching. This new colorway that we’ll unabashedly dub the “Grape” version is one that would’ve been a perfect for back in the day, when shoes were color-blocked with predominately white or black uppers and hits of colors in the same manner seen here. If the latest Nike Zoom Stefan Janoski looks familiar to you, then you might be a longtime Sneaker News reader.  This new Old Royal and Midnight Navy Janoski lowtop is similar to a Pacific Blue style that hit in 2010, the key difference being this pair opting out of microperforations Air Max 87 Womens on the saddle.  It’s a more uniform look that’s a bit deeper blue than the aforementioned style, so have a closer look after the jump and check back with us for this new style set to arrive shortly.

We recently broke down the inspiration behind the Nike Kobe 8 Mambacurial, noting the ties to the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX that released earlier this year. Basketball fans will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the international sport with this release – one of Nike’s most impressive concoctions of the year and a certain candidate to make our Top 30 of the year. To allocate specific air pressures in different compartments of the Max Air unit was one of the most impressive evolutionary jumps in Air Max history. Using the understated yet always-effective canvas and camouflage model, Nike Free Run keeps it simple and timeless with their release of the Nizza Hi Classic 78. The classic hi-top features olive stitching and laces that compliment the all white midsole with Nizza branding on the back in gold, using the basic blocking with the trendy camo print on the upper. We’re gonna go ahead and call the Nike Air Max “Beaches of Rio” set the unofficial fourth entry in Nike’s “Home Turf” series. Landing far from the European spots like Milan, London, and Paris, the five sneakers instead wash up on the beaches of Rio De Janeiro. The Nike Air 180 EM just might be the underdog style of the bunch seeing as how it’s pitted here against relative giants like the 1, 90, 95, and 97 all with the EM treatment. It also might be the darkest pair of the group what with that deep laser purple across the upper. The multi-color look seems to be almost ready for the Nike Lunar Flyknit One. The good news is that the releases in question don’t appear to be any sort of limited ones, as you can’t see any HTM branding that would suggest a treasure hunt and subsequent bonkers re-sell prices. The slightly redone Nike Air Force Max returned in 2013, with the All-Star ‘Area 72′ colorway whipping up some energy around the VT-molded Retro sneaker. This new Dark Grey colorway sorta shares the ‘grey’ profile of the All-Star, although this one opts for a minimal appeal with Wolf Grey and Black trimmings, but who knows – maybe the sneaker customizers will get their hands on these and use ‘em as a canvas. These have begun to hit sneaker retailers recently and Eastbay just reported a full size run of its own stock, so take a look below and see what’s available on my stroes.

The board game Mastermind involves attempting to figure out a secret combination of colored pegs.  In the fashion world, the only two colors you expect from the company by that same name are black and white.  So when we learn that the mastermind JAPAN x Nike Free Run Originals capsule is growing, you have an idea of what to expect and it becomes a matter of which models and how the B&W look gets applied.  A couple weeks after seeing their ZX 500 comes a full-on starting lineup including four other styles with the signature colors and skeleton detailing.  The mastermind x Nike Free Run Rivalry Hi, Gazelle OG, Superstar 80s and Pro Model join the ZXes for a quintet that’d make the Brooklyn Nets proud, and you can draft them into your collection when they hit select retailers starting next Wednesday, July 3rd.

The black EXT has a fierce black snakeskin, the red EXT adapt a sick VT suede upper, while the Air Nike Free Run 3.0 V3 Force 1 sorta combines them all with snakeskin and suede. The Nike Air Force 1 “PlayStation” remains a grail for anyone who considers themselves a connoisseur of Uptowns. And if you’re not a big fan of that classic silhouette, surely you can appreciate the Sony style being ported over to the Nike LeBron X. Just Beast whipped one of those up with this, a remix of the Nike LeBron X “Blue Diamond” colorway that comes complete with the PS1 logo on the back badge and a blue/black palette pointing to the PS2. Street artist Neck Face has even more stuff in the works with the Nike SB Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 team.
