Starbucks has been pushing their new Skinny Mocha of late, and while the new Nike SB release pictured above doesn’t carry any direct coffee influence, it does indeed represent a slimmed down take on a classic SB style. This new Nike SB Zoom Bruin has an undeniable ‘Mocha’ look about it, a lighter-on-darker brown blocking pattern that worked so well on a couple of mid-’00s Dunk Low SBs. They’re more like the ‘Mocha 2/Tweed’ for their use of a suede upper, but lean back to the 2004 original by adding a dark foxing band that resembles the Dunk’s outsole. These might not make for the kind of obvious recognition as the ‘Tiffany’ colorway, but it’s quite the versatile release and available now at CNCPTS.

It’s not as common as some of Three Stripes’ other classic runners, but it seems like whenever a new Nike Originals ZX 700 hits retailers, it’s cause for celebration.  An insane purple suede pair popped up in July and though those have yet to hit retailers, another bold ZX700 has just released.  They’re not all-over monochromatic suede like the other joints but rather a melange of Miami Dolphins-leaning colors on a bed of leather and mesh plus suede on the toebox.  Click through to see more angles and pick up a pair today from SNS.

It started with the Dunk High, then (nose)slid onto the Mogan 2 and switched sports entirely for the LunarRidge, so the stage is set now for the latest Nike Winter OMS release to combine all these influences. The Nike Lunar Braata Mid OMS does just that, pairing a skate upper with the Ridge’s LunarLon OMS sole (a lighter alternative to the Winter Dunk’s Free-inspired bottoms). They also connect to P-Rod’s Lunar hybrid and are available now at many of the same retailers, including Premier.

One of the major developments in the sneaker world this season was the confirmed return of the Air Jordan III with ‘Nike Air’ on the heel. Considering the White/Cements last saw the light of day in Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 this form back in 1994, the reaction to this news was, for the most part, positive. However, this latest bit of information might be a thorn on the side, as the retail price for the Air Jordan III with Nike Air will be set at $200 – a whopping $40 jump from the MSRP of the 2011 Retro version. Nike Sportswear adds a fourth member to the chromed-out Super Bowl Trophy pack with the classic Bo Jackson trainer that returns in its signature colorway this Saturday. The Nike Air Trainer SC High pictured above is kinda like taking that original ‘Auburn’ getup and transferring the intensity of the Tiger colors into a metallic blast on the wraparound. A bit of black comes in on the tri-toned splotch outsole and we’ve got a Lombardi Trophy tribute that doubles as a fine white spring/summer shoe and a suggestion of further growth for gridiron-inspired Nike Free Run 3.0 V5 sneakers in the years to come. The ‘Memphis Blues’ tune is slowly beginning to play out, because after we showed you a detailed set of images earlier this week, we’re getting hit with some more images of this purported ’1-of-1′, which clearly is far from being the one-of. Royal Blue is to Penny as Varsity Red is the MJ, and this colorway definitely pulls no punches as it goes ‘Raging Blue’ with the tonal colorway on hte upper, with the translucent outsole and 1-Cent logo offering the only contrast. No word on a release of these Memphis Blues just yet, but we’ll keep you updated because it certainly appears that these are beginning to pop up with reason. Your thoughts on this colorway?
